Central tilba

We had a delightful stop at the quaint town of central Tibla, just up the road from Tilba Tilba. Oh my what a lovely place with old wooden houses, mostly used as buisnesses now. I think the population is about 100.

It is famous for its dairy products.

I came across this little gem of a shop. It was full of woven rugs, gemstones and other gifts. But it was the rugs that really interested me.

The owners family have had a personal connection for about 60 years with the traditional weavers of these Kurdish sennih kilim rugs .

These ones are woven with a curved weft from west iran. I think the sanandaj region. If only I didnt have a number of rugs back at home I would have been very tempted to buy one of these.

We stopped at the tilba teapot cafe and had fig scones. Yes I know, how delicious.

I may have bought an old book from here about ghost stories.
