Chinese memorial garden in Young

These gardens are a memorial to the Chinese gold mine workers from around the area during the gold rush.  They were viciously attacked by locals and had fled to a nearby property for protection.

Even though the weather was not very good I still loved the gardens and its little paths with large rocks.

In the pond was a replica statue of a horse found in a grave in China. It was believed to be in praise of the god of thunder which was very fitting as the sky was thundering as we made our way around the gardens.
