The town of Eden has a port at the south of Australias east coast. Every year I would hear about Eden as it is the port where boats racing in the Hobart to Sydney yatch race retire, usually after bad weather has created damage to the boat or conditions are too hazardous.
I found the visit to the port interesting as I could see where the boats are moored.
The look out and marine rescue station gives a great view of the coast and out to the horizon.
There is a memorial to lost mariners. So many, especially young sailors remembered.
The modern light house.
This tower was once used to signify with a puff of smoke a whale sighting. Not for sight seeing but for whale hunters to set out on the chase.
