Episode 28

Episode 28 of Bishopstone yarns is now up on youtube for you to watch. I have added a little introduction to this video just to talk about the loss  of The Queen. I hope you all enjoy the spinning update and have found some time to do your own crafty making over the past few weeks.

I love reading and hearing about all the crafting you have been doing so leave a comment and I will be sure to read it.

Hand dyed yarn

We were lucky enough to have a few nice warm days recently so I decided to do some dyeing.  After spinning up a jumper worth of wool during July for the tour de fleece I wanted to dye up some skeins so I can get ready to start knitting Birkin sweater by Caitlin Hunter.

I had carded a brown wool fleece with a white alpaca fleece to create a brown base colour but I really didn't want another brown jumper so I decided to over dye the main body skeins with apollo bay landscape dye (blue).
I then used some other landscape colours to dye other skeins to be used in the yoke pattern.
