Bishopstone yarns episode 13

The lucky number 13th episode of Bishopstone yarns is now up on you tube.

I have been having so much fun sharing my crafting with you all. I hope you like this episode where I talk about my finished Ancient Gemstones shawl and my Ranunculus sweater.

I also head down the rabbit hole of cross stitch. This is a craft that I started when I was about 17 and did some Danish designs but have not really done much since then. I had forgotten how much time cross stitch takes up, but having said that I am still enjoying revisiting a bit of slow stitching.

Easter knitting #knittingpodcast

I wish everyone a happy Easter and hope you found some time to sit and relax with a bit of crafting.

I have knitted a few chickens from my handspun yarn to add to my Easter flock.

I always had an Easter display starting from when the children were small. I used to display their Easter craft to create a display but as the years have gone by some of the pieces were looking a little sad and old so I decided to update a little, starting with some knitted chickens.

Next year I hope to add some cross stitched pieces to my display but there are so many to choose from I dont know which one to choose first.

Do you make a display for Easter and do you have any favourite hand made patterns you love to use? I would love to hear what you have made.

I have been knitting up these little birds to add to my Easter display.  I used some of my left over handspun yarn that I had dyed using landscape dyes.

I hope everyone has a relaxing and safe Easter break.

Valentine's Day knitting love

As it is Valentine's Day here in Tasmania I thought I would share some of my wooly love. These are true love as they will keep you warm for years to come. These knits are all from my handspun wool and are also hand dyed by me.

I hope your Valentine's Day has been full of love in what ever type that is.

A cardigan for me.

While going through some of my handspun yarn I came across some of my early yarn that was spun from our sheep when they were only young . I then dyed the yarn using landscape dyes. I have always loved these colours and over the years I couldnt find a pattern to use. So I decided to just jump in and create something.

since we moved to a much smaller place we no longer have space for sheep so I am going to treasure this cardigan as a memory of the years of fun with our sheep.
